It feels like new restaurants are popping up all the time and it’s hard to know which to try first, that’s where we’ve stepped in and curated the perfect list for you with the best of the newest openings.

Botanico

Botanico was an instant success when they opened their doors for the first time last month and have gone from strength to strength ever since. A huge part of that success is down to its authenticity with father and son owners Donato and Antonio bringing their Italian influence to Woolton Village. Their menu includes Italian favourites such as Spaghetti Bolognese and Pollo Milanese alongside their contemporary takes on bistro classics with Pork Belly and the Chicken Supreme among our picks.

Have we mentioned the decor yet? Well, as the name suggests, the decor is a botanical haven with plants pretty much everywhere you look, providing the perfect backdrop to your dining experience.

And, you’ll want to stay for dessert too. They have a delicious array of homemade cakes and other sweet treats.

Tiger Rock Hawker

First up is Tiger Rock and if you’re a fan of Thai food then you’re in luck (and there’s more to come) as this is as authentic as it gets.

If you’re not too familiar with Thai cuisine then this is definitely the place to start, with staff on hand to guide you through their delicious menu.

If you’ve still got room for something sweet then you won’t be disappointed with what’s on offer for dessert. Our personal favourite is the apple spring rolls and coconut ice cream.

Did we mention their cocktails? If that sumptuous menu wasn’t enough to convince you then just have a look at their drinks menu! The Mango Margarita Slush is always our go-to, but the Tiger Blue is also very popular amongst their loyal customers.

Spice Thai

Spice Thai is one of the newest editions to the city’s ever-expanding food scene and this place is definitely worth checking out.

The Baltic Market regulars amongst us will have already come across Spice Thai and will know just how good the food is, but for those that haven’t then you have to try the ‘Weeping Tiger’ which is their signature marinated sirloin steak alongside their Jaew sauce and weeping sauce served on a sizzling plate. Trust us you won’t want to order anything else, although you definitely should.

That leads us to desserts with the Chocolate fudge cake the pick of the bunch that’ll just melt in your mouth. But we also have to mention their mango sticky rice which is also certain to get the mouth-watering.

Carlisi

Those familiar with Liverpool’s Italian food scene might have already heard the name, with Carlisi having opened their first site on Dale Street a few years ago before opening this year in Allerton Road.

Morning, noon and night Carlisi has you covered with a menu for all times of day. Their breakfast and brunch menu infuses Italian staples like Focaccia Porcetta with more typical options including their own take on an Eggs Benedict. As the afternoon approaches Carlisi really is the place to be on Allerton Road with a huge selection of Italian dishes to choose from.

Carlisi really is a slice of Italy right in the heart of Liverpool.

Nord

Looking for something a bit fancy? Then look no further than Nord. Since its opening earlier this year, Nord has gone from strength to strength offering some of the best food the city has to offer and with a cool contemporary decor to top it off.

Nord is a real treat for those looking for finely cooked food, cooked by highly experienced chefs and even a quick glance at their menu will tell you that. To start we would go for the ‘Crab salad’ which combines crab, crispy potato tacos and a pickled shallot and saffron aioli go together to make something truly unique. Next, we would go for the Fazzoletti pasta which is in a mushroom beurre blanc with salt-baked celeriac and sorrel.

Their carefully crafted cocktail menu is certain to impress with a range of classics alongside their own delicately curated range including the ‘Clover Club’ which is a combination of ‘gin, vermouth, lemon, raspberry and whites’ mixed together to make the perfect cocktail.

Make sure you save some room for dessert though, with our pick of the bunch being the ‘Banana sticky toffee pudding with vanilla ice cream’.

Also, with the festive season upon us, it’s the perfect time to book your Christmas party and their new menu for the festive season is sure to impress.
